You don’t have to travel far to find a great place to enjoy a festive meal. Many Eastside restaurants add Irish-inspired specials to their menus in March, think hearty comfort food, rich desserts, and a perfectly poured pint.
A few places worth checking out include:
JJ Mahoney's Irish Pub – A longtime local favorite known for its classic Irish fare, friendly atmosphere, and festive St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
Kells Irish Restaurant & Pub – A well-known Irish pub with traditional dishes and live music, perfect if you’re planning to make a night of it.
Flatstick Pub – A fun option if you want a casual gathering spot with great food, drinks, and a little friendly competition.
Reservations are often a good idea around the holiday, especially for dinner.
If a big night out isn’t your style, consider celebrating with a sweet treat at home. Several local bakeries lean into the holiday with themed cookies, cupcakes, and pastries.
One local gem worth visiting is Farine Bakery & Cafe, known for its incredible pastries and artisan breads. Even if they aren’t serving something green, it’s hard to go wrong with anything from their pastry case.
Stopping by a neighborhood bakery is also a great excuse to take a walk around town and enjoy the early signs of spring starting to show up across the Eastside.
Sometimes the best way to celebrate is simply gathering around your own table.
A relaxed St. Patrick’s Day dinner at home can be surprisingly easy to pull together. Classic dishes like shepherd’s pie, corned beef and cabbage, or Irish soda bread are comforting and perfect for sharing.
You might also try a simple Irish-inspired drink like:
Irish coffee
Baileys hot chocolate
A classic Guinness (for those who enjoy it)
Add a few candles, a little greenery, and a cozy playlist, and suddenly a regular weeknight dinner feels a bit more festive.
Mid-March on the Eastside is a time when winter begins to loosen its grip and spring slowly starts to arrive. It’s the perfect opportunity to get outside and enjoy some fresh air.
Local parks and trails around communities like Sammamish, Issaquah, and Bellevue are starting to show hints of green again, making a simple walk feel like its own little celebration of the season.
Sometimes the best way to celebrate a holiday is simply appreciating the place you call home.
St. Patrick’s Day is often framed around luck, but living in a place like the Eastside reminds me that a lot of what we call luck is really about community.
It’s the local restaurants that become regular favorites, the bakeries where you stop in for a weekend treat, and the neighborhoods where people truly feel at home.
And if finding the right home or the next chapter of your homeownership journey is on your list this year, having the right guidance can help make that process feel a little more fortunate too.
In the meantime, however you choose to celebrate, I hope your St. Patrick’s Day includes good food, good company, and a little bit of Eastside charm.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
