Here are a few of my favorite spots:

  •  Bellevue Botanical Garden is a magical oasis that began as a log cabin and 7.5 acres in 1947 and has blossomed into 53 acres of gardens and horticultural activity. There is no cost of admission and the seasonal changes always surprise. One of its most well-known events is the holiday festival, Garden d-Lights, and it attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, including our family!
  • For a most curated and elevated dining experience, a reservation at Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi is necessary. Located on the 31st floor of Bellevue’s Lincoln Square South, the views are breathtaking and the food is unexpected. We’ve enjoyed several special meals here and while we’re always surprised, we’re never disappointed. Save room for dessert, and I’d suggest Skyfall, Halo or the Magic Mushroom. Trust me.
  • For family entertainment, you need to check out Lucky Strike Bellevue. Yes, I’m aware that it’s a bowling alley, but it’s so much more and as the kids get older and you want something that pleases young to old, participants to watchers, this one fits the bill. Rent a lane for 2 hours, get some food and have some good old-fashioned family fun.
