Kirkland is a vibrant waterfront city nestled along the shores of Lake Washington. With its stunning natural beauty, thriving arts scene, and diverse community, Kirkland offers a perfect blend of urban sophistication and small-town charm. Stroll along the scenic shores of Lake Washington, enjoy a leisurely bike ride on the Cross Kirkland Corridor Trail, or paddleboard through serene waters while taking in breathtaking views of the Cascade Mountains. Kirkland's downtown area is a bustling hub of activity, featuring eclectic boutiques, art galleries, and gourmet restaurants. From farm-to-table dining experiences to international cuisines, Kirkland's culinary scene delights foodies of all tastes and preferences. With its top-rated schools, strong sense of community, and convenient access to major employment centers like Seattle and Bellevue, Kirkland offers residents an exceptional quality of life.

Here are a few of my favorite spots:

  • Carillon Point has to be my favorite spot in all of Kirkland. There’s something about the marina, coupled with a couple of great dining spots, that just makes everything feel better! We just celebrated Chris’ birthday at COMO (comousa.com) and watched the sunset from our table. And lunch is perfect at El Encanto before you take out a paddleboard or jet ski on Lake Washington.
  • Community events are one of the things that makes Kirkland so special. Whether you want to participate in a fun day of habitat stewardship at one of the many city parks, you’re looking for a great 4th of July celebration, you’ve been training for the annual Kirkland Shamrock Run or you’re excited for one of the many Kirkland Wine and Walks that are hosted each year, the Kirkland Chamber of Commerce is what you want to bookmark.
  • If cruising the waters in style is more your vibe, then Argosy Cruises is where you want your next adventure to be. They offer a variety of public and private sightseeing tours that are great for out-of-town guests. Argosy also hosts several events throughout the year, the most notable being the famous Christmas Ship Festival, which has been a Northwest tradition for more than 70 years, complete with Santa, hot chocolate, live caroling, cookies and adult beverages. We have sailed with Argosy and we have also spent many years behind the Argosy ships as a “follow boat”. It truly is a special experience!
