Renowned for its thriving wine industry, Woodinville is home to over 100 wineries and tasting rooms, making it a premier destination for wine enthusiasts from around the world. Visitors can explore award-winning wineries, enjoy tastings of locally-produced wines, and savor gourmet cuisine at nearby farm-to-table restaurants. Beyond its vibrant wine scene, Woodinville boasts an array of outdoor recreational opportunities. From hiking and biking along scenic trails to picnicking in picturesque parks, there's no shortage of ways to enjoy the area's natural beauty. Woodinville's quaint downtown area exudes small-town charm, with historic buildings, boutique shops, and cozy cafes lining its streets. Residents enjoy a close-knit community atmosphere, with regular events and festivals that celebrate local culture, art, and music.

Here are a few of my favorite spots:

  • -Known as the premiere destination in Woodinville, Willows Lodge happens to be my top pick as well. The elevated hotel is nestled on five landscaped acres bordering the Sammamish river. It features serene gardens with gorgeous flowers, sculptures and water features. The two (not just one) award-winning on-site restaurants The Barking Frog and The Herbfarm are worth the trip alone. You are within walking distance to some of the best tasting rooms in the state, and you have access to their amazing spa and rejuvenation center.
  • Speaking of wineries, Woodinville Wine Country has the most comprehensive list of tasting rooms, an explanation of the distinct districts of Woodinville wineries and where you can dine and eat. They offer wine, dine and stay packages at some of the best spots in the area and offer tasting passes to help you navigate your wine journey. My favorite winery, Sparkman Cellars, and restaurant Purple Cafe are both featured. At Sparkman, get a wine flight and the braised brisket flatbread. At Purple, you need to start with the baked Brie and then choose either the Cranberry Chicken salad or the Salmon sandwich.
  • Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery is famous for its wine, but you might not know that it’s local claim to fame is it’s summer concert series! Last year, we attended John Legend’s concert in their open air venue where they serve, you guessed it, wine! and tasty morsels and they attract some of the best entertainers in the industry.
