Known as the "Bicycle Capital of the Northwest" and home to global technology giants like Microsoft and Nintendo of America, Redmond seamlessly blends innovation with natural beauty, creating a dynamic and thriving community. Redmond offers residents and visitors alike an unparalleled quality of life. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore miles of scenic trails, go kayaking on Lake Sammamish, or enjoy a leisurely picnic in one of the city's many parks. Beyond its natural splendor, Redmond boasts a rich cultural scene, with vibrant art galleries, theaters, and music venues showcasing the talents of local artists and performers. The city's diverse dining scene offers an array of culinary delights, from farm-to-table eateries to international cuisines, satisfying every palate and preference.

Here are a few of my favorite spots:

  • In the heart of downtown is Matador, and it’s a perfect stop for happy hour or when you’re craving a top shelf margarita. They serve a dip flight that features their house-made queso, fresh guacamole and spicy black bean dip that is a must order. I also love their Baja Mahi Mahi tacos, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on their menu!
  • Redmond Town Center was a bit controversial when it first opened, as it’s an open-air shopping center, which seemed ill-fitted for our rainy weather. And it’s morphed over the years, but it’s home to a couple of my top spots, including IPIC Theaters, Kizuki Ramen, Locust Cider and The French Bakery. It also has great shopping and hosts an outdoor skating rink in the winter, along with Santa photos and a lot of holiday magic!
  • Marymoor Park is a haven for people (and dogs) of all ages and hosts a diverse directory of events every year. The Summer Movie Series and Summer Concert Series are always sold out and feature some of the top entertainers in the country. Locals dub the park as “doggie Disneyland” for their fur babies with 40 acres of off-leash park area. Cirque du Soleil produces world-renowned shows every other year and we have seen 2 incredible shows here as a family. And the velodrome, a 400-meter track dedicated to bicycle racing, is the only one in the state.
